    Hello,

I mounted the photo drive as Read-Only as a precautionary method as I am unaware of how it modified the EXIF data of the photos. The photos I have are being also indexed by other photo tools and it is very important for me not to get the EXIF metadata modified.

When checking the docker logs I can see the following error. but I understand why it happens.
I would like to know what does Cardinal do to the photos what EXIF data needs to be written to the Photo.

On another note, does Cardinal Photos index RAW files? Is there an option to exclude the Raw Files or any specific photo/video extensions?

    Thanks,
    Adandu

Hey there, Cardinal won't modify your EXIF data or your files in any way. The errors you see happen when the indexing service runs into something unexpected when reading, not writing, EXIF data.

Are you seeing that error for every photo, or just a few?

I'm still working through the edge cases that can come up when indexing photos. For these photos, if you are willing to post one here or send me one in private, then I'll fix whatever bit of EXIF parsing is causing that error.

If not, no worries I have a few files of my own giving me issues and an upcoming update might fix it for you.
